Unlock Your Writing Potential:
Learn How to Start and Finish Your Book with Confidence!
Â
You know you want to write a book. You have a good message or concept. You have the desire to become an author. And you’re ready to put in the time to write it yourself. But you don’t know how to get started. Or maybe you have started, but you’re not sure about what you’re doing. And you want help.
If that describes you, Stage to Page Group Coaching may be your perfect solution.
Charlie and Stephanie Wetzel, who have helped John C. Maxwell with his books for the last twenty-nine years, are now offering small group virtual coaching for aspiring authors.
Over the course of four months, four to six participants will gather for weekly one-hour Zoom sessions with Charlie and Stephanie. These exclusive meetings will present a master class on writing from Charlie, Q and A time, and discussion.
Through this highly directed and intentional experience, you will plan your book, write your first two chapters, and create your book proposal. By the end, you will be ready to either pitch your book to an agent or publisher, or be set up to finish your book and begin the self-publishing process.
Cohorts will launch twice a year (the next ones are in August 2023 and January 2024).

The first 8 weeks consist of:
You will think through and plan your book. As John Maxwell says, “All’s well that begins well.” Answering the right questions and organizing your ideas are critical to a successful writing process. This is where Charlie can help you the most.
Here are some things you will learn and practice during this phase:
- Find and Refine Your Concept
- Know Why You’re Writing the Book and What You Want it to Achieve
- Identify Your Audience
- Write Your Thesis
- Articulate the Promise of the Book
- Come Up with a Great Title
- Figure Out Your Structure
- Create the Chapter-Title Outline of Your Book
- Cultivate Your Writing Process
Between sessions, you will complete an assignment that will bring your book into greater focus. Phase One also includes one or two individual Zoom coaching sessions with Charlie to nail down your outline, which will become your roadmap for writing.

In the second phase, which is expected to last eight to ten weeks (depending on holidays), you will write the first two chapters of your book, as well as your book proposal. Each weekly session in this phase functions like a writers’ group.
Charlie will continue to teach mini-lessons and answer questions, but most of each session will focus on reviewing a chapter completed and submitted by a participant. As Charlie and Stephanie give specific feedback on how to improve a chapter, you will learn more from them about how writers and editors think. And of course, hearing the feedback on your own chapter will help you take it to the next level.
Phase Two also includes editing from Stephanie, after which you will end up with two finished chapters and a proposal. When you present your book idea to someone who can get it published, you will want it to be at its very best. This is where Stephanie shines. Phase Two also includes individual coaching sessions with Stephanie during and after editing.
Stage to Page Group Coaching is best for aspiring authors who:
- Already have a strong message or book concept,
- Have created space for writing during every week of the four-month process, and
- Are ready to work on their book immediately and
Please note: This program does not include ghostwriting. We will help you become the writer you need to be to write your book. If you complete the writing assignments, and revise your work based on Stephanie’s edits, you will be able to produce a final draft of a book proposal and at least two chapters. You will be well on your way to publishing your book!
